All about Me

I am a fierce young grandmother who is raising her granddaughter, and I’m not the only one doing this so I want to share my story. I have been a single mother for most of my life and I had to find partnership and support in new ways. I am an ecstatic enthusiastic cheerleader of teachers and parents of young children. A storyteller of life and a leader of change for the better. An advocate for children and developmentally appropriate practice in the classroom (wherever a child may be learning) and in public policy. I am on a mission to increase the health and well-being of children, families, and communities across the globe.

My goal for Blissful Vocation is to help all caregivers to find ways to support children to grow up with the skills and social/emotional & physical wellness needed to face the 21st century. To inspire a world where caregivers find support and love, so that we can ensure that our future, and the future of our children is a beautiful one, full of collaboration and mutual benefit.

I have been teaching and learning for over 15 years in the early childhood education field. I hold an M.Ed in Child Development, Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified to teach Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) modules I and II--Modules III and IV will come later this summer.  I am provisionally certified to teach the Community Resiliency Model (CRM). I am a credentialed California and Arizona Elementary teacher. I am a wellness warrior for Juiceplus+ and hope to get Tower Gardens in every classroom in my community. I am passionate about equine facilitated learning and therapy. I have been a homeschooler, childcare provider, preschool teacher and most recently an elementary school teacher. I am the mother of three wonderful humans and the grandmother to the Sweetest Little One and I want to tell my story!
